While CEO of PlaceMatters, a nonprofit dedicated to helping communities find creative local solutions for thriving, equitable, and resilient places, I raised over $5 million in grants, donations, and fee-for-service projects. Supervising a half dozen staff, we worked nationally and locally on a wide range of land use, transportation, parks, and housing plans. To assist communities we developed a suite of tools and techniques for civic engagement and community planning. In 2018, PlaceMatters merged with Radian, a nonprofit in Denver.

Today, I am a co-founder of Free Range Inventions and a contributing member of Slipstream Power Solutions, two companies developing inventions for better living. I also have renovated two homes for resale as well as remodeled the kitchens of our current home and cabin in the mountains. I have decades of experience building and fixing things and experimenting with DIY creations. 

​

I enjoy traveling with my grown boys and wife, particularly drawn to white water rafting and outdoor adventures. I continue to compete in national and international ultimate frisbee tournaments. I enjoy making artistic creations, cooking, playing guitar, bird watching, and attending concerts and plays.
